OEM Kia Roof Racks

Roof racks add instant versatility to your vehicle. They provide extra room for bikes, kayaks, luggage, or work gear. Here's how to install a roof rack in your Kia Telluride in a few easy steps.

Installing Roof Racks on a Kia Telluride: What to Know

1. Prepare the Roof Surface

Before starting, clean the roof of your Kia Telluride to remove dust, debris, or wax buildup. This helps ensure a tight, secure fit and prevents any scratching during installation.

2. Locate Factory Mount Points

The Telluride is designed with pre-drilled, hidden mount points along the roof rails. Open any access panels or covers and line up the roof rack brackets with these designated areas.

3. Install the Crossbars

Set the front and rear crossbars in place according to the spacing recommendations in your roof rack kit. Most crossbars are adjustable—ensure they’re evenly spaced and aligned. Tighten the mounting bolts securely with a wrench or torque tool as specified in the manual.

4. Test for Stability

Once installed, tug gently on each bar to check for movement. Everything should feel solid. Give it a short test drive and listen for any rattles or vibrations. Recheck bolt tightness if needed.

Why You Might Need a Suspension Upgrade

If you regularly load gear up top, your suspension may feel the extra weight. Consider upgrading your shocks and struts to improve ride comfort and stability under load.
